6 Comic Book Stories you Need to Read Before 2014′s Comic Movies
1 0f 6 X-Men: Days of Future Past
To be fair, Bryan Singer’s film adaptation on the comic book classic 'Days of Future Past' looks like it will be a very loose adaptation at best. But if you've seen all the other X-Men movies then you shouldn't be surprised. But you will definitely enjoy this story and the experience of seeing how it inspired the movie. It's a classic X-Men tale, and since it takes place in the year it was published (1980), you can see why a modern 2014 take on the story will be so much better on the Big Screen. What's really cool is how the story ties in with the year 2013. In this story, Kitty Pryde is sent back from the apocalyptic 2013 to try and stop Mystique from assassinating Senator Kelly for her Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.

The unique personalities of Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Groot and Rocket Raccoon have made them favourites among comic book fans, but ironically you’ve probably never heard of the Guardians of the Galaxy. That's because they’ve only had relatively sporadic appearances in comic books over the years. But after James Gunn’s movie next August, these cult favorites will be a household name. The movie is sure to be a hit, and getting to know the character's and their story ahead of time will only amplify your movie experience. Thankfully, Avengers and Uncanny X-Men writer Brian Michael Bendis has effectively reintroduced these characters to a modern audience with new costumes, and he even added Iron Man to the team!
