There's no doubt that reading this story will enhance your movie experience for the film of the same name! Captain America: The Winter Soldier is about the return of The First Avenger's best buddy Bucky from WWII. Only this time, Bukcy is brainwashed by Russians as an assassin, named The Winter Soldier. Obviously there will be some missing and/or changed elements of the comic book, but they’re still similar enough in tone and characters. This collection is an awesome read by itself, and if that's any indication of how great the movie will turn out then you should be excited. It’s also newbie friendly and writer Ed Brubaker arguably made the character “cool” again with a story that revealed more about Captain America's WWII adventures. This story also made him a major part of S.H.I.E.L.D. with more of an espionage tone instead of the cheesy patriotic tales of his past.

With the upcoming 'Winter Soldier' movie, you should definitely check out this definitive story for the iconic hero. At the conclusion of Marvel’s Civil War, Steve Rogers is taken into custody by S.H.I.E.L.D. On his way to face trial, he's assassinated by the Red Skull and Crossbones. Bucky A.K.A. the Winter Soldier who was brainwashed into being a Russian assassin, eventually overcomes his brainwashing and takes overr the mantle of Captain America. You probably hate the idea of seing Chris Evans die and leaving behind his role as the Cap, but keep in mind that Bucky's new costume, sidearm and differentiated perosnaly made him truly a fan favourite character. Since Chris Evans only signed up for six appearances as Captain America, it seems likely that Sebastian Stan as Bucky will be taking over as the next Captain. This holds a ton of potential for an emotional ending to one of our favorite Avengers, as long as the live-action Bucky proves to be as engaging and lovable as the comic version.
